Stone-Washed

fingers glide
along well-known routes
through valleys and bumps
across the territory of the body

exploring ancient scars
tracing the arch of a foot
skipping by the rise of a hip
stumbling over a ridge on a knee

this stone-washed body
 vibrant and warm
graced with a patina
gifted only by time

this stone-washed body
mine

  1. How delicate and sensual can be the pen of the poet? Delicate gestures that draw lines scratched in ink. That punctuate sentences and crown vowels like stars in the ecstasy of the night. When the morning comes, the pen shines on the desk. While the windows to the heavenly blue open slowly ... in a blink.
