The Woman in Me

The woman in me
looks out at the world
from behind blue eyes
She is gentle with me
and protective of my soul
She allows my body
to move with grace
She makes room in my heart
when space is needed
and closes wounds with her tears.

The woman in me
long earrings brushing the side of my neck
silk slipping over skin
a foot stepping into the highest of heels
two bodies pressed together in the dance
the quickening of my pulse
the heat on my skin
my heartbeat.

The woman in me
shows herself
when least expected
to those
who look closely
who are able to see
truly see
the woman in me.

  1. Tears can heal wounds...and a smile can create a new life! :-)
