Voyeur (Collaboration with Bukky Fehintola)

The following is a collaboration I had the pleasure to do recently with Bukky Fehintola . I found this photograph by Bukky at Photograph Prose .  Thanks to Ally at PP for the opportunity and thanks to Bukky for the wonderful inspiration.  Please take some time to visit both of their pages for amazing words and images. You can also find them both on Twitter: @picturesand / @PhotographProse.

She watches
from the safety
of a sheltered distance
drinks in the silhouette of him
against pale powdered sea
as his body
leans and rides the bluster
of salted air
feels her own
begin to sway with his

She wishes
for his face to turn
to turn and see her there
and just as quickly prays
that it does not

She wonders
if, after all these years,
his scent is still the same
sandalwood and smoke
and if his eyes
still reflect the greens
of summer meadows

She steps closer,
hears her whispered name
lifted from his lips
carried on the zephyrs
that bring the sound
of footsteps
to his ear

He turns
to find her
watching

  2. Such a great story, you really drew me in, and
    here: "She wonders
    if, after all these years,
his scent is still the same
    sandalwood and smoke
    and if his eyes
    still reflect the greens
    of summer meadows"

I could smell it, see it.

    A lovely collaboration!
