Fractures

Diana Matisz

breaks
in communication
ruptures
at the junction of contact
fragmentations
of bitter-pill memories
splintering
end-of-tunnel light

repair
ever widening rifts
caulk
with viscous familial blood
reconstruct
teetering frame
seal
raw lacerations

[ Thanks to @lerrnst for the inspiration with the word 'breaks' in his latest poem '1453' ]

  1. Very nice. I love the emphasis put on the "break" words, giving them space to breath.

  2. Life breaks us in the most unlikely places and we become stronger at the fractures. The scars of healing are wisdom and pain entwined in the little details of what remains.

    Wonderfully visceral. (Hugs)Indigo

  3. Dig the single word lines since they provide a rhythm to an otherwise free form poem. Also enjoy that the first stanza is about destruction, and the second is about reconstruction. There is hope to be had! :D
