Throwing Stars

changeling winds
pluck silver stars
from onyx sky
above your head

minuscule shurikens
flung across a sea
honed points dipped
rimed with salt

riding nor'easter furies
to alluvial river's edge
lifted by night mist
to clouds above my head

dropped by rain
onto my skin, slicing
through the surface
embedding you, in me
