What Children Hear

Photo ~ DianaMatisz

when children listen
it's with more than ears
eyes widen
at lips forming full round vowels
tiny fingers stretch to catch
the crooked curves of smiles
trace wrinkles in a cheek

when children listen
they feel the rumbles
and whispers of words,
intentions resonating
in air, between the reason
for a spoken word and
the experience of its taste

what children hear
when they listen
is everything we are

  2. I haven't visited in a while, but this is beautiful and I am glad that it was the first post I read when revisiting.

Very truthful, very playful, and very sweet. :)
