A Road Home
Photograph~DianaMatisz
a road home
where skin fits bones
to perfection
where other eyes
see nothing
but who one
really is
beneath the scars
hidden
far beneath the armor
a new road
unexplored, a novelty
deviation from the path
and yet, long-shadowed
by past lives lingering,
never far behind
a road that leads to
just-around-the bend
time-in-a-bottle and
grow-old-with-me
the best is yet to be
on a road home
